Despina Kouali is a research associate at European University Cyprus and Frederick University. She completed her PhD in Sport Psychology at the University of Western Ontario in Canada (2018). Prior to her PhD, she obtained her Master’s degree in Exercise Psychology at the University of Thessaly in Trikala (2013). In 2008 he graduated from the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens.

Her research interests include the development of a measurement tool for psychological well-being in sport, the relationship between various motivations and psychological well-being in individual and team sports (based on the theory of self-determination), the role of mental imagery and the effectiveness of mental imagery interventions in sport. He has also studied the role of pride and perfectionism in physical activity, the effectiveness of mindfulness on performance and well-being, the role of emotions, and strategies for coping with stress in sport.
